Description :

Versailles United Methodist Church is seeking a dynamic individual to be our Student Pastor. This is a half-time ministry with the goal of expanding to full-time in the future. We are looking for a committed follower of Christ who has a love and passion for ministering to middle school and high school students. You would be part of an experienced staff who utilize a team approach of doing Kingdom work in a growing local church.

The position of Student Ministries Pastor is a salaried position (20 hours per week). This individual will be committed to understanding and working under the mission statement of Versailles United Methodist Church.  This staff member’s main responsibility is to function as the servant leader of all programming and activities for students in grades 6 to 12 and to coordinate the volunteers who assist in the ministry.

STAFF RELATIONSHIPS

The Student Pastor shall function as a team member of the total church staff, working to train, equip, and deploy laity in fulfilling the “mission” of the Versailles U.M.C. He/she shall work under the guidance and direction of the Senior Pastor.

He/she shall work with the Children’s Pastor to build a vision for Family Ministry enabling parents to participate in the discipleship of their children.

STUDENT MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and implement a student program on Sunday nights.
  • Serve as a resource for Sunday morning Student Life Groups.
  • Maintain and oversee all Student Life Groups.
  • Recruit, train, and minister to the adult volunteers.
  • Implement Safe Sanctuaries policy and conduct Safe Sanctuary training yearly.
  • Plan and coordinate various outings, projects and other special events throughout the year.
  • Ensure that persons in that age demographic are taught the word of God, equipped to be servant leaders, and encouraged to be servant ministers.
  • A commitment to reaching out to the unchurched Middle School & High School students in our community, seeking to move them to becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • The Student Pastor shall be a person of proven Christian character and display leadership abilities with acceptable academic credentials and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Publisher and Canva is a plus.
  • Candidates for employment shall submit to a Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse and Neglect Check and submit a Citizenship Status Form.
  • A driver’s license background check will be required.
