Lexington Church of God (LCOG) is looking for a full-time children’s pastor. We are part of the Church of God (Cleveland, TN).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team and family here at LCOG as we are entering our next building phase. Lexington Church of God is a 500-600 avg attendance church. We are located in the heart of South Carolina, just outside of Columbia, conveniently located to many amenities. Lexington is a wonderful place to live and raise a family and close enough to enjoy a day trip to the mountains or the beach.

Position Description: Children’s pastor will be responsible to lead and oversee all areas of children’s ministries at LCOG. Candidate must be able to work well and in harmony with the lead pastor, staff, and the LCOG team.

The children’s ministry team is very strong and eager to serve, with approximately 80 active volunteers serving each week. And typically around 200 adult volunteers eager to help with events like VBS.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

· 3+ years of ministry experience

· Proficient computer skills

· Must be able to effectively lead a team

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years experience in developing, coordinating and administering an effective Children Ministry overseeing Infant Care through 6h grade. Candidate will be responsible for meeting the needs of children and helping them find Christ. This includes providing a high quality, age appropriate, multifaceted children’s program that includes recruiting volunteers, supervising assistants/interns and Children Choir Director. This person will oversee children services, children choir, Sunday worship and Bible studies, plan and coordinate special events, VBS, outreach, and provide fellowship on Friday AWANA Nights and spiritual growth for children. The candidate must be an effective communicator and be able to handle multiple priorities successfully while meeting deadlines. To work alongside with Children Ministry Deacon developing and overseeing the Children Ministry annual budget of about $25,000. Strengths should include leadership, strong relationship, solid organization skills and team player. This pastor will be directly responsible to the Senior Pastor of the church.

Requirement:
• Commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
• Theological or Bachelors degree required (with preferred studies in teaching or education).
• 3-5 years leadership experience in children’s ministry or related field.
• Preference given to candidates with ethnic church related experience.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Team player with leadership and teaching skills.
• Flexible work schedule, willing to work extended hours to complete assigned tasks/projects as needed and scheduled.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with attention to detail.
• Passionate celebration and ownership of the vision, mission, values and purposes of ICCCC.
• High level of spiritual maturity.
