Context Community Church is seeking to reach people in our community who are relationally disconnected from Jesus by creating a community where ALL people can connect to God’s story.

Purpose Statement The Worship and Student Ministry Director is a multi-role position that exists to provide oversight and leadership to a meaningful weekly worship experience and to provide oversight and leadership to a multi-campus, thriving Student Ministry program that fosters faith in the hearts of middle and high school students through meaningful adult relationships Responsibilities • Worship Director o Develop and oversee Sunday morning service programming with input from Pastors o Develop and train additional musicians and tech team members while fostering a sense of camaraderie with volunteers o Assemble and schedule worship and tech teams at each campus o Schedule rehearsals for worship and tech teams, as appropriate o Provide leadership to the Creative Planning Team and the implementation of creative elements into services o Work with Pastors to provide recommendations for campus auditorium, equipment purchases o Oversee church-wide special events that require production (i.e. Communion Service, Thanksgiving Service, Maundy Thursday Service, etc.) o Lead worship regularly o Meet with the entire church staff monthly o Meet with the Executive Leadership Team regularly o Other duties as requested by the Lead Pastor • Student Ministry Director o Give oversight to all aspects of a multi-site Student Ministry strategy that effectively reaches students in our local communities o Develop and oversee Student Ministry Teams to provide local leadership at each campus of Community Church o Develop a team of coaches and small group leaders to ensure all regularly attending students are assigned to and involved in a healthy small group experience 2 o Oversee all aspects of volunteer management including recruitment, training, scheduling, and support, including ensuring all volunteer security clearances are complete and up-to-date o Implement XP3 curriculum across campuses o Implement regular small group experiences for students with caring, adult leaders o Work to provide resources and training opportunities to partner with parents o Provide a summer experience for students (e.g. camp, mission trip, etc.) Requirements • A demonstrated relationship with Jesus Christ • Exemplify the leadership qualities listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Galatians 5:22-23 • Fully aligned with the message, mission and ministry strategy of Community Church • Spiritual maturity to support the growth of a vibrant student ministry • Excellent organizational and relational skills with a track record of developing volunteer leaders and teams • A sense of humor, positive attitude, and a desire for excellence • A servant’s heart that offers to step in and help • Timeliness, reliability, and trustworthiness • An ability and desire to learn new software and systems, particularly in an Apple-based environment • Maintain a positive rapport in the community • Minimum of a high school diploma of equivalent, bachelor’s degree preferred • Prior experience in worship and student ministry is preferred, with a minimum of an ability to lead worship with vocal skill and competency on guitar and/or keys • Able to pass local, state, and national background checks Role Expectations: • Consistently complete duties and responsibilities in a timely way • Maintain a positive relational stance on all fronts • Remain within budgets associated with this position • Achieve goals for this position as it relates to our shared mission • Contribute to a positive and effective staff team dynamic • Effectively problem solve within the scope of this role • Ongoing improvements and innovations within the scope of this role • Learn to utilize the church database system (CCB) Time Allocation: Priorities based on an average work time of approximately 40 hours per week: Sunday mornings 10% ~ 4 hours Meetings (Staff meetings, one on one’s, volunteer meetings, etc.) 20% ~ 8 hours Creative Team Leadership 10% ~ 4 hours Worship Rehearsal, Stage Setup, Planning, etc. 30% ~ 12 hours Student Ministry Oversight and Leadership 30% ~ 12 hours 3 Hour allocation is strictly an approximation and should be used as a guide for time management rather than the letter of the law. Some weeks will involve more hours while others will prove to be lighter.
